4 week stay - $2,000
This is a customizable program best suited for dogs who need basic obedience skills and/or want e-collar training and/or want to stop unwanted behaviors and/or are mildly fearful/reactive.
What is covered?
Crate training:
Dogs will learn to go into the crate on command and not rush out when the door is opened.
Dogs will learn how to be calm and quiet while in the crate.
Threshold Manners:
Dogs will learn not to dart out of doorways, this includes doors leading outside, the crate door, fence gate and car door.
Sit and Down:
Dogs will learn the sit and down commands with an implied stay. This means when you tell the dog either command they will maintain position until told otherwise. They will learn how to sit and down both in front of you as well as on the left and right side of your body. They will be able to hold each position for a distance of at least 20ft, and around mild distractions.
Recall (Come):
Dogs will learn to respond promptly to their name and recall command. They will be able to recall from a distance of at least 20ft and recall off of mild distractions. This is foundational recall work unless you add the e-collar, your dog will not be fully off leash trained nor will they be ready to be trusted off leash in all situations.
Heel:
Dogs will learn how to find heel position when they are in front of you and walk with you in heel position on leash around mild distractions.
Place:
Dogs will learn the place command which consists of going to a raised bed or platform and laying down until told otherwise. Dogs will be able to send to their place from at least 4ft and maintain position around mild distractions.
In addition to these skills you are able to add on what your specific dog needs work on.
This program is ideal for the overly social and/or distracted dog. The leash reactive dog, the fearful dog or the dog who wants to learn an e-collar recall.
E-collar add on:
In our 4 week program we will begin e-collar training for recall, this means we will layer the e-collar over the recall command. This allows you to feel secure in allowing your dog off leash around mild distractions.
The e-collar is one of the best tools for a reliable recall off leash in the real world. We will condition your dog properly to feel the stimulation from the e-collar and understand it means come to us for a reward. By the end of this program you can expect your dog to understand the recall command well and to use the e-collar as a back up, for that just in case moment when your dog does not respond to your verbal command. Adding in the e-collar stimulation will quickly bring your dog back to you.
Keep in mind this is our base level e-collar program, the only thing your dog will understand with the e-collar is recall. If you want to use the e-collar for other commands we recommend our 6 or 8 week programs.
We recommend continuing training after the board and train with group classes.
